Folding@Home Distributed Computing: Well the past two days I have just been trying to get back into the swing of things since my trip to Charlotte. I have reinstalled xp on my puter trying to make it work better. I have also joined the Folding@Home Project. Folding@Home is a distributed computing project which studies protein folding, misfolding, aggregation, and related diseases. We use novel computational methods and large scale distributed computing, to simulate timescales thousands to millions of times longer than previously achieved. This has allowed us to simulate folding for the first time, and to now direct our approach to examine folding related disease. Not much else just been going to work and staying at home. What a life.
